The hotel is ideally located in the wine-growing village of Marsannay-la-Côte close to the motorway and the delightful city of Dijon – which was the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy and is a city which is steeped in history and boasts a rich architectural heritage…
Just a few minutes' walk from the impressive Ducal Palace and the mediaeval centre of Dijon you can walk along a network of romantic, tree-lined streets and footpaths... Situated equally close to the historic sites and the celebrated restaurants which are archetypal glories of Burgundy, Marsannay-la-Côte is in a rural but modern setting which has everything that you need for an enjoyable stay. Take a trip by car, by bike or on foot along the Burgundy Wine Route which runs from Dijon to Santenay via Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune and you'll combine the discovery of charming, evocatively named villages with the enjoyment of vintage wines in the wine-tasting cellars.
This is where the most famous wines in the world are made – wines which were drunk by Charlemagne and the Dukes of Burgundy – and there are as many celebrated vintages here as there are villages! Once you enter the wine-tasting cellars you'll have plenty of opportunity to sample these legendary wines… Berries are grown above the vines (blackcurrants, raspberries, gooseberries or strawberries) which are used to create delicious liqueurs.
Founded by Robert de Molesme in 1098, the abbey is situated in Saint-Nicolas-les-Cîteaux, and its monks even included Saint Bernard who went on to found Clairvaux Abbey. The visitor is sure to be immersed in the religious atmosphere of the place as Cistercian monks still live in the abbey.
